Golf Emperor’ Tiger Woods (48) went on the operating table again.
On the 20th (Korean time), Woods tweeted,안전놀이터 “I received surgery to treat post-traumatic inflammation (the right ankle ankle bone) following an ankle fracture.” Dr. Martin O’Malley performed the operation in New York and began rehabilitation at his home in Jupiter, Florida.
A car accident in 2021 left Woods with multiple fractures in his right leg and ankle. It was a serious injury that almost amputated his leg. He made a miraculous comeback last year and participated in the Masters, receiving great applause. He passed the cut and finished 47th. However, in the next major tournament, he withdrew from the PGA Championship and missed the cut at the Open.
However, in the Masters, which he participated in again this year, he visibly limped, and withdrew during the third round, raising concerns that the injury might have improved.
It was true after all. Woods was back on the operating table.
Excel Sports CEO Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, said in an interview with the Associated Press, “Woods is resting after surgery and improving. There are no specific plans (return to the field) yet.”
There is a high possibility that Woods will not be seen at the PGA Championship to be held next month and the US Open in June. It is expected that it will be virtually difficult to participate in the Open, the last major tournament of the season scheduled for July. It’s actually out of season.
