In the second inning, McBroom was treated as a catcher foul fly. He continued his cruising streak by striking out Shogo Sakakura. However, he threw a 152km fastball in a situation where there were no runners in the second runner, and got a left-handed solo shot and was hit. His first hit and first run in Japan were recorded at the same time. After the home run, Kosuke Tanaka, Nirasawa Yuya allowed consecutive hits, and the crisis continued with 2 out and 1st and 2nd base. However, he overcame the crisis in the second inning by striking out Kuri Aren with three pitches.
