Choi Won-ho’s managerial system, Hanwha, does not hire outside coaches… KT winning coach Park Seung-min ‘promoted to pitcher main’

After parting ways with coach Carlos Subero, Hanwha, which started anew under the coaching system of Choi Won-ho, also carried out a reorganization of the coaching staff. Since it was in the middle of the season, the position was transferred internally without external recruitment.

After winning against Daejeon메이저놀이터 Samsung on the 11th, Hanwha notified coach Subero of the contract termination. Coach Subero, who was spending the last year of his 3-year contract, was on the rise with 5 wins and 1 loss in the last 6 games, but he could not avoid responsibility for poor performance as he ranked 9th overall (11 wins, 19 losses, 1 draw, .367 win rate).

Hanwha appointed coach Choi Won-ho, who led the Futures team, as the official manager by putting him in the first team. The contract was signed for a total of 1.4 billion won (down payment of 200 million won, annual salary of 300 million won, and option of 300 million won) for three years until 2025. Leading the team since the Munhak SSG match on the 12th.

As the coaching system was changed to Choi Won-ho, the coaching staff was also reorganized. Pitching coach Jose Rosa, who came to Hanwha with Subero, and Darrell Kennedy, operational and base coach, resigned together. Foreign coaches and coaches all left.

In the absence of coach Rosado, 1st team bullpen coach Park Seung-min was promoted to the main pitching coach. Coach Park Seung-min has extensive experience as the main pitching coach at Kiwoom and KT. He is also the coach who contributed to KT’s first integrated championship in 2021. Manager Choi Won-ho said, “The position of the main pitching coach is important, and coach Park Seung-min has a lot of experience.”

Lee Dong-gul, pitching performance coach who served as bullpen coach for the past two years, will return to this position. Koh Dong-jin, the futures coach, will be the third base coach after Coach Kennedy left. In addition, in the batting part, Futures hitting coach Jung Hyun-seok comes up and collaborates with the existing coach Kim Nam-hyung.

Coach Yoon Park, who was in the first team, moved to the futures hitting coach. Head coach Lee Dae-jin, battery coach Kim Jung-min, and defensive coach Choi Yun-seok will retain their positions.

Kim Seong-gap, general coach of the remaining army, was appointed as the futures manager. It consists of pitching coach Jeongjin Park, bullpen coach Maeilyeong, batting coach Yun Park, defensive coach Wonho Nam (concurrent 1st base and running base), Seungwoo Chu operation/running coach, and battery coach Heegeun Lee.

Since the season was in full swing, it was not easy to recruit a coach from outside. Coach Choi said, “This year, I decided to work with internal coaches. He knows the players well and has made changes to experienced coaches.” After the remainder of the season, it is expected that coaches who agree with Coach Choi will be appointed.
